  • For 8 years he was president of the Instituto de Pesquisas Florestais - IPEF, one of the most modern and important Forestry Research Centers in Brazil, having implemented the process of knowledge transfer and modern technologies in forestry plantations for Peru in the last 8 years.
  • De Freitas is the founder of the Forestry Development Fund of Sao Paulo (Brazil), which he chaired until 1995. During the past decade, he was director of the Brazilian Society of Silviculture (Society for Forestry Development). For 33 years he worked at Champion Paper and Cellulose International Paper, a transnational forest products company based in the United States, where he held important positions such as Vice President of Forest Resources and Executive Vice President.
  • He graduated in 1969 with a degree in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil). Later, in 1978, he graduated as Business Administrator from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (Brazil). He has carried out numerous studies and scientific works and is currently an International Consultant in Forestry Plantations.
